Never a Dull Moment

M and I decided to get a gelato at our new favorite gelatisserie in my hood. This place has the most unique flavors I've ever come across, some of them I'm not even sure I know what they are. I think they have upwards of 30 flavors, and my strategy is to sample two varieties per visit and then decide on the lucky flavor of the month. Toping the charts this visit is the Pandan and Coconut, and I don't even know what pandan looks like or should taste like. All I know is it tastes like the coconut sticky rice dessert at thai restaurants but in a chilled creamy form. Drool....

On our walk back we saw the midget from Jackass, or at least he looked like him. Then we passed by this festive fire truck parked in the fire station. When M went in to pose in front of it, an alarm went off, and we thought they were going to be loading up the fire engine to respond to an emergency. So, we ran away like any criminal would, fleeing from sirens. Then a passerby told us the garage had a sensor. We gathered our courage and went back, careful to pose in front of the infrared beam. Luckily, the nice firemen came out and let us in; he even took our photo! Ever since Norway, I have a thing for fire trucks, thanks to S and cousin A.

After the fire house we proceeded to walk back to my place. Less than two blocks away we saw a group of firemen in full gear getting ice cream. I've always wondered what their logical stereotype food would be since policemen have donuts, tonight I found my answer. It makes total sense!

This is all in addition to the backpackers, drug addicts, and twilight ladies.

P.S. In the course of composing this blog I had to retype flavor instead of flavour and favorite instead of favourite numerous times. And now flavor looks weird to me. I'm assilimating on the subconscious level already!
