Reformed
I had an epiphany in the women's locker room today (no, I'm not swinging that way). It was just after my reformer pilates class, and I realized I always feel 10 inches taller after the class. Oftentimes there was a bounce in my steps even though my legs turned to jell-o, in a good way, when climbing stairs out of the gym. I thought back to the hours of piano lessons my parents had put me through to improve my posture when they could've just stuck me in a pilates class. Sure, I enjoyed playing the piano, but the instrument doesn't travel well. After much lack of practice the hard earned skills diminish to near nothing. Luckily my teacher said I was semi-talented, what with the long fingers and all, so maybe not all is lost. I wondered how my life might have changed if I never played the piano and had instead picked up pilates. I imagine it would be quite different. I would probably be vegetarian or at least psuedo vegetarian, or just a guilty feeling vegetarian eating meat.
