Mex Test

Homesickness can strike you in different ways, even taste buds can fall victim to the affliction. The inconvenience of traveling is the lack of Mexican food. One can get Panda Express grade Chinese food in nearly every curve of the globe, but passable Mexican food can only be found in very select regions outside of its ancestry. I have tried to find substitutes such as kebabs as the late night burrito, but it's not the same. Who puts lettuce in a burrito?

At one point, I attempted to make Mexican food out here to alleviate my craving. Instead of making it from scratch, I got the El Paso seasoning pack. I was too lazy and could not find the right spices at the store. I was disappointed in every way imagineable from the taste to the fact that the smell lingered in my apartment after the failed trial for days. DAYS! So I swore that off for good.

Recently I had a craving for Mexican food, and I decided I was going to do this properly. I went to the store and got all the proper ingredients for nachos and burritos. I made sure all the windows were open and the fan was blowing when I got to cooking. The result was successful, and the apartment did not smell, at least not for days. I always said I could eat Mexican food everyday, and that was nearly the case. For, after having the initial batch for dinner for three nights in a row, I decided it wasn't enough. So, I made a second batch the subsequent night for dinner. After that, I decided I was done with Mexican food for the year...or maybe just this week.
